President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his happiness and satisfaction, and that of the whole nation towards the army as well as d other security agencies on the safe release of the remaining 23 train passengers kidnapped and held captive by Boko Haram terrorists.
Reacting to news of the hostages being safely released as per his earlier directives, Buhari on Wednesday in Abuja said the nation owes the military and all other security and intelligence agencies a debt of gratitude for the successful conduct of the operation leading to the release of the hostages, affirming that these agencies had demonstrated during this period of exceptional capacities of which the whole world will be sure to take note.
“The armed forces of this country are worthless. Given the necessary support and encouragement like we have, there is no task they cannot complete. I congratulate them for this remarkable result,” said the president.
Expressing his satisfaction with the successful deployment of kinetic and non-kinetic processes leading to the safe release of the remaining hostages, Buhari also commended the families of the victims for bringing them back alive. .
He ordered that the relief brought to the nation following the closure of this unfortunate saga be maintained at all times, throughout the federation.
The President also thanked his government for resolving the problem and de-escalating the terrorism, banditry and kidnappings that have recently broken out, assuring that the efforts will be sustained.
