Ethiopian Government has suspended Visas On Arrival For Nigerians with immediate effect.
This was revealed in a statement released on Tuesday
The government said travelers should obtain their visa from its embassy in Abuja before embarking on a trip to the country.
“Please, be informed that effective now no more visas on arrival for Nigerian citizens,” the email read in part.
This development comes two weeks after the national airline, Ethiopian Airlines, acquired 49 Majority ownership percentage on the Nigeria Air project
The Embassy did not give any reason for the action to cancel the visa on arrival for Nigerians.
He however revealed that the new policy would not affect passengers transiting through Addis Ababa to their final destination
“The passengers with a stopover in Addis to travel the next morning to Zanzibar, Seychelles, Lusaka, Lilongwe, Harare, Cape Town, etc., are not affected by the ban and do not need a transit visa for their travels,” he added.
The Ethiopian government has also required that passengers crossing its borders must have a yellow vaccination card showing the one of its borders.
