The leader of the IPOB has been in detention for almost a year and a half.
The court upheld the appeal filed by Kanu and discharged and acquitted him of the crimes against him by the federal government, according to his lawyers.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, one of his lawyers, who confirmed this on his Facebook page wrote: “Appeal allowed, Oyendu Mazi Nnamdi KANU, released and acquitted. We won!”
Kanu, who was first arrested in December 03, 2015 and later released on bail in April 15, 2017, had in his call for the month of April 29 and marked CA/ABJ/CR/330/2022, asked for his release and acquittal.
