The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has received the body of the late Elder Sam Augustine Egwu, Kogi State correspondent of Leadership newspaper.
While receiving the remains at the NUJ Secretariat in Lokoja on Friday, the Kogi State NUJ President, Momohjimoh Adeiza described the late Egwu as a peaceful man with a passion for journalism.
He said the late pilot will be greatly missed because of his courage and commitment to journalism.
He also prayed to God to bless the family members and gave the journalists the courage to endure this unimaginable loss.
The late Egwu died last week in Lokoja, after a short illness.
The 67-year-old will be buried at his home in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
DAILY POST reports that journalists gathered at the NUJ Secretariat to honor the famous journalist.
