Former Chief of Staff Oyebanji was sworn in by the Chief Justice of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, Sunday October 16, 650
He succeeded Governor Kayode Fayemi who was also a former Minister of Minerals and Steel
By taking the oath, Oyebanji pledged to preserve, protect and defend as well as preserve the governorship in the presence of the mammoth Ekiti.
Those present at the ceremony included All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu; Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his Plateau State counterpart Simon Lalong.
Others include Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Godwin Obaseki (Edo) , Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) among others.
Oyebanji was declared the winner of the Ekiti State Governorship election after the ballot211, 16 votes.
He emerged victorious after defeating his two closest rivals – Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who voted 187, 82 votes, and Bisi Kolawole of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who obtained 04,457 voice.
