Yolanda and Joel they met through a friend who thought they would be perfect for each other. He was right! The pair collected it well and so it began. Now, Joel took it a notch higher as he asked Yolanda to be in his life forever. You already know the answer to that, as here we are drooling over their beautiful proposal photos.

Their love story as shared by Yolanda:

Joel and I met through a mutual friend – Hey baby! In December 2021, I attended a fire and sand party (a bonfire at the beach) that Ejiro was also at (Ejiro and I have known each other since August 2020). A few days after the fire event, Ejiro sent me a DM asking if I was dating anyone and since I wasn’t dating, he asked to set up a date with his “handsome friend” . On December 13, Joel and I met Hans and Rene for ice cream before we had to travel to Abuja for the party. We stayed in touch after that – talking and texting every day and about a month later, we started dating. I think we both knew that was it! This was “the” relationship.

Here’s Joel’s side of the story:

December 6, 2020, started like any other day – except it didn’t end that way. I had just closed from work and was in a conversation with my friend and friend Ejiro aka Eji baby, about how I should have attended Fire and Sand after seeing all the fun on IG that I had missed. He replied, “and the girls had sense o.” I then quickly followed up by sharing some interesting IG handles (real G here!). I had an obvious interest and a few days later, he helped set up a meeting. On December 13, Yolanda and I shared our first moments on the ice. About a month later, we engaged in a relationship.

Yolanda shares Joel asked the question:

I knew my engagement was coming up, but I didn’t think that Joel would actually make my birthday (lol). We already planned to celebrate my birthday by ourselves, at our hotel, out for dinner and back to the hotel to relax. One wonders why he was dressed like that, right? Well, I usually dress up on my birthday to take pictures for the gram. So on April 3rd, as planned, we cooled down at our hotel and went out for dinner. Next, Joel says we should stop briefly at his friend’s meeting. In my head, I said, “My birthday?” But then, I agreed – little did I know.

I think at this point, it is important to note that the meeting and greeting was in the same place we had our first date and it did not click. The next thing I know, I walk into Hans and Rene and hear, “Surprise!” I really thought I was mistaken for the bride until I saw my friends! Well, as the saying goes, pictures are worth a thousand words. So, I’ll just let you talk!
