The Lagos State Police Force on Friday met with senior security officers of the state’s banks over the shortage of naira.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the agency, SP Benjamin, he announced that the meeting took place in Ikeja, where the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, advised the financial authorities to take appropriate measures to angry about not getting the money.
CP Alabi also requested the banks to develop plans that will eliminate the breakdown of law and order among the banking community.
Hundeyin said that the meeting was necessary due to the increase in violence and freedom in various bank branches in Lagos.
The police have encouraged the CSOs to do everything necessary by law to prevent any public peace crisis in their areas.
The security agency has confirmed that it is following up on the incident surrounding the new Naira currency notes, and will continue to prioritize security and public safety.
