The spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential campaign council, Femi Fani-Kayode has called for the impeachment of the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Goodwin Emefiele and his arrest.
There are rumors in the camp of the presidential candidate of the APC party, Bola Tinubu, that the decision taken by the central bank is to disturb the party during the upcoming elections.
The CBN governor has repeatedly rejected the allegations, stressing that the move has no political purpose.
But Fani-Kayode in a message he posted on his Twitter page on Friday said Emefiele wants to distort the election by creating confusion through financial crisis.
The tweet read, “Let me make this clear. Emefiele does not intend to release new naira banknotes until March. He wants people to suffer, he wants chaos and he wants to distort the election.
“He is a very dangerous pawn in the hands of the evil anti-democracy. Remove, arrest and imprison him NOW”!
